Previously known as the Zululand Rhino Reserve, this very scenically attractive 23 000-hectare reserve in the heart of Zululand was established in 2004 when 17 landowners agreed to drop their internal fences. The reserve was chosen as a release site for black rhino in 2005 as part of a WWF project to expand the range of these critically endangered animals. Today it’s home to over 70 mammal species (including the Big Five) and a superb diversity of birdlife
